   Diana Chaloux’s most recent adventures to promote her show the Diana Chaloux FAME South Central Championships include KZEP radio 104.5 FM and 106.7 FM interviews; an interview with 210SA newspaper/magazine which will run onApril 30th:  a series of promotions with the US ARMY including grand openings of their recruiting stations & joining them for the Battle of Flowers and Flambeau Parades;  finding herself in the midst of some of the Dallas Cowboys and some of the Texas Rangers... aaaahhh what a tough life it is to be a show promoter :-) .Plus on April 25th Diana is a guest with the very popular morning radio crew Lisle and Hahn at 99.5 Kiss rock station during a live 1 hour broadcast! Time Warner Cable San Antonio began airing the television commercials for the event starting on April 21st!! Diana will be joining the crew of 1250 AM ESPN Radio in San Antonio the week before the show to do a live on air interview and will be on the Fox 29 news coming up on April 30th. Then.... she's taking a nap :-)

Drug Testing Woes - Another One Banned

It saddens us to announce that another athlete has been banned from competing with the FAME World Tour.  This time, the urine test results of this newly turned FAME Pro, came back positive with high levels of boldenone, a steroid that is only legal if  prescribed by veterinarians to animals.  The decision to ban the athlete follows in line with the Drug Testing Policy outlined by the World Natural Sports Organization in an effort to only allow the FAME Stage to be a forum for natural athletes, those athletes who exemplify health and fitness and are a positive influence to those around them.

FAMEr Paul Eade has replaced the position of Rick Rotchild and now sits in the top placing from the Ian Walling FAME Centrals.  First runner up is Carlos Peres.

We are currently awaiting more test results and will keep you up to date.  Congratulations to all athletes whose test results have come back clean and thank you for helping to maintain the integrity of the organization!

We had so much fun at FAME East even though we couldn’t understand most of what the emcee was saying- it was all in French. LOL. But “Fitness’ seems to be a universal language and the performances alone captivated us and everyone else in the crowded theatre.

Larry Vinette’s posing was amazing. Only afterwards did we learn that a lot was ad libbed since he instructed 'music'  to “fade out once he looked tired” - and according to ‘music’ he never looked tired!  LOL.  So Larry kept on going and much to his fans' (including his daughters') delight he even rushed the crowd... twice!

Super couple Yannik Morin (owner of the Bat Cave where several athletes including Julie Marsland hide for undercover training), and girlfriend Valerie David (new FAME Figure Pro) wowed the crowd with their incredible Pairs routine. Although Valerie is lip syncing was perfectly timed to the English words, we were told that she only speaks French!  Check out their video - click on the video clip.

The grand finale of the evening ended after Henri-Pierre Anu won the Overalls and become the newest FAME Pro.   Emcee, Stephane LaPorte, brought Renaldo (well, the banner with Renaldo on it) over to centre stage, pointed at him and said "In Your Face Renaldo!"...  It was very funny!   Henri-Pierre apparently agreed and decided there on the spot that he could easily take on the reigning Pro Champion and then proceeded to go into one of Renaldo's signature moves, the splits for his first time ever!   All in good fun, we seriously are very excited to see The FAME World Championships Pro Showdown on June 14 in Toronto to watch it all go down!   If you can't make it out in person, then check it out on the Web TV broadcast happening live!

Athletes, if you want to compete at the Worlds you can, but you must first qualify (unless you're competing in an Age Category, Physically Challenged Division or the Bikini & Muscle Model Categories) by competing in any of the FAME World Tour Regionals.

Radio:

* FAMErs Annette Milbers (FAME Fitness Model Pro & Magazine Cover Model) and BIkini Model Pro Dr. Amanda Diep are representing FAME on JACK FM.  It is also a live web TV show so watch for these two beauties.  The show airs at 8:30 AM this Friday.

Newspaper:

After 10 years, the Canadian Jewish News is doing a follow -up feature on FAME and its founders, Jeffrey Kippel and Mindy Blackstien. Lyzabeth Lopez will also be featured as the Pro athlete as she is part Israeli.  This is a NATIONAL publication so we are very excited to spread the word of ‘FAME’!  If there are any other Jewish athletes who would like to be featured, please contact us.

Corporate News:  New President of FAME Philippines Named

Bong Pico has been named President, FAME Philippines.  Bong is an active Media sponsor and recognized by the Philippine Federation of Bodybuilders (PFBB), a national sports association recognized by the Philippine Olympic committee, Philippine Sports Commission and the Asian Bodybuilding Federation (ABBF-IFBB). He is also the Media sponsor of the National Amateur Bodybuilding Association (NABBA Philippines) and is recognized by the local fitness associations such as the Fitness Network Philippines (FitPhil) and the Powerlifting Association of the Philippines (PAP).  

The first FAME show under Pico's direction will be on October 25th in Manila.  A FAME Camp will also be held in Manila on May 31st to qualify contestants for the 2008 FAME World Championships in Toronto, Canada, June 13-15.

Your other option is to attend a FAME Idol and audition your way into the show!   The next FAME Idol is taking place in New York City, New York on May 31.   Read more about FAME Idol here.  

Host Hotel:  More rooms were added to the Intercontinental room block under ‘FAME’ (for reduced room rates) since all rooms from the original block were taken. ALL REGIONAL EVENTS

All regional events give athletes the opportunity to qualify to compete at the FAME World Championships (Toronto, June 13-15).  Plus for Advanced Status athletes, these shows are PRO Qualifiers meaning that you can win your PRO Status to compete in the prestigious PRO Class!   Each event has representatives from FAME Model and Talent who are scouting to award contracts with the agency.  As well, FAME Magazine staff are always on hand to cover the show and feature any good story angles and photos.

This Weekend: 

All we can say is 'WOW'.  Calgarians and those flying in for the show are all about to be a part of history!  The 2008 FAME Prairies is the LARGEST regional event ever (177 registered now) - and it keeps growing!   Tickets are moving very fast and the remaining ones will only be available at the door.   Just a reminder, that due to the sheer size of the show, Judging will start at 8AM sharp. 

Photos, photos and more photos!   Official FAME Photographer Tim Rollans is offering photo packages for only $40  which includes stage photos and ALSO  your own private shoot!  Wow!   Plus,   purchasing a package from him will greatly increase your chances for exposure with FAME (in FAME Magazine &/.or on the official FAME website) since Tim offers FAME access to each shot!

Photographer David Ford will also be on hand scouting on Saturday and shooting on Sunday.  David's pictures are often featured in various magazines and he's currently setting up photo shoots. 

FAME European Championships: (Sunday, London, England) 

FAME Pros Rob Riches and Audrey Kaipio and FAME Ambassador Angie Weston are taking the lead on this show, getting athletes ready to compete and hosting the show!  Now with more entertainment acts and a huge fan following as part of the SeniShow, the FAME European Championships is a great way to end off your weekend!
