Media Promotion for FAMErs... CBS Feature Story!


So last newsletter we shared with you that the New York Times had contacted us for information about the FAME World Tour.  The focus of their story was on Senior athletes and appeared as a full page article in the Fitness Section of the paper!  Great exposure!


One athlete who was interviewed, is FAME’s very own Vice President of Senior Athletics, Scott ‘Old Navy’ Hults.  His story inspired countless people and also caught the attention of CBS News.  


Here’s what Scott had to say: “I got a call from CBS News in New York and was invited to NYC to do a follow up story for CBS News Sunday Morning, a network program that airs early each Sunday to an audience of about eight million viewers.


CBS News made all of the arrangements and I was met at the airport by a car and driver who dropped me off at a hotel in the City for the night. Early that morning I had breakfast with the producer to go over what he wanted to do with me. We then were met by a film crew from 60-Minutes who were going to do the shoot at Club “H” Fitness. I donned my “Proud FAME Athlete” sleeveless T and went to the gym floor to began working out in front of the cameras. Then, I did a sit down interview with Dr. Emily Senay, M.D., a CBS News health and medical correspondent who asked me several questions about our sport and about my participation in FAME. The FAME name is

prominent throughout the interview.


My segment will appear this Sunday (April 13) in CBS News Sunday Morning as the lead story.”

Looking for FAME?  FAME Model & Talent has auditions for you!

First up, Northern Response is looking for a male and female host of their next infomercial and they want it to be a FAMEr!!!  Plus, they need attractive models in the background to demonstrate the exercises.   Auditions are on Monday in Toronto.  Pay for the hosts is around $3000 and for the models $500/2 hours.   Plus, it’s great exposure and another item to add to your resume!  


Next, all athletes who are competing this weekend at the Ian Walling FAME Centrals are invited to receive a free competition spray tan that is being filmed for a Reality TV Show!

Bodybuilding Superstar, Renaldo Gairy debuts as Guest Poser this Sat!

Check out the Ian Walling FAME Centrals for an amazing guest performance by superstar, Razor Renaldo Gairy.  Set alongside the Pro Qualifying Bodybuilding, Figure, Muscle Model and Bikini Model competition this Saturday is meant to be enjoyed!


The show starts at 9 AM for the Judging portion where athletes will be taken through a series of intense posing sequences in order to determine the proper ranking.  You can expect to see a lot of sweat as the athletes fight it out under the strong theatre lights and multiple flashes of the cameras.  This is the time the athletes need your support and encouragement, so come on out and help these athletes shine!  The more cheering they hear the more adrenalized they get and the better they can perform!  Join us! 


The Finals / Entertainment show begins at 7 PM sharp!  If you’re looking for quick paced excitement, this is the show to attend.  Now that the judging is over, the athletes suddenly become much more relaxed on stage and more personality shines through...  Definitely a more lively version of the morning show and something very enjoyable to watch!  Plus, this is the time when the Razor himself is sure to WOW the crowd with his self choreographed routine and perfectly chiseled physique (with all muscles popping) as he moves to music like one of a kind.  At the end of the evening the award ceremony takes place, athletes lives are transformed and new Pros have emerged!  Tickets available online or at the door.

Football Star Emmitt Smith and FAMEr Diana Chaloux


Diana has been out promoting her event, Diana Chaloux FAME South Central Championships, all over Texas! Most recently she was invited by Jason Minnix ESPN 1250 AM radio to go to the NCAA Final Four Slam Dunk Competition to promote the show. Diana even had the chance to meet up with football super star Emmitt Smith introducing him to the FAME Lifestyle! He was thoroughly intrigued by the strict diet which competitors follow and couldn't believe that Diana doesn't use butter!! LOL.

FAMErs’ News!


Kendall Wood - Congratulations to FAME Pro, Kendall Wood on his win for the RealGainz Hottie of the Month Contest.  The finals for all monthly winners begins in November.  He will need at least 6,000 votes to win so please support your favorite reigning Pro Fitness Model champion!


Bill Freidman - The Bodybuilder and I is a documentary featuring Grandmasters Bodybuilder Bill Freedman as taped through the eyes of his son capturing the dynamics of their relationship.  Following Bill as he prepares to compete at FAME the film also catches other athletes such as Carl Krasnor, Jerry Shapiro and David Weinstock during the actual competition.  If you have a chance, watch this film.  Congratulations Bill!  Job well done!


New FAME Pros - Congratulations to the Advanced (Level 3) athletes of FAME West who we now welcome to the circle of FAME Pros.  Naomi Keane, no stranger to the stage wowed the judges with her Geisha inspired routine and fantastic physique all the way to Pro Status in both Fitness and Fitness Model Search.  Joining her are Muscle Models, Xavier Trujillo who looked fantastic in his warrior inspired costume and Sylva Mischke who captured the audience attention as soon as she hit the stage.   Megan Colfield took the overall in the Bikini Model Search looking effervescent in her yellow bikini.  Taking the overall amongst the bodybuilders is the super symmetrical and cut Tony Ruggiero whose 20 years experience obviously payed off.  We look forward to seeing all these guys at FAME World Championships in Toronto.  Check the FAME West Results.

Garfield Wilson has baby news...  A little girl will be joining has 2 boys (ages 3 & 5) on May 1 2008!

Lyzabeth Lopez - Being flown down by FAME to Head Judge the Boise Bikini Model Search at Bodybuilding.com’s annual expo, Lyzabeth will also be hosting a 1 hour live call in show Friday afternoon (1 PM) for Bodybuilding.com Just In TV show together with FAME Co-President, Mindy Blackstien.  Join them!


Derrick Brown - A big congratulations to WNSO Pro Bodybuilder Derrick who has far surpassed the number of athletes who competed in his show last year, the Derrick Brown FAME Prairies in Calgary, Alberta.   We may have to implement cap!  If you’re planning to compete, please register right away!


Jeffrey Kippel - Listen for his on Daytime TV in Brampton, ON from 11AM - 12 PM on Thursday as he gets the crowd excited for the Ian Walling FAME Classic.  Joining him will be Razor Renaldo Gairy who will be guest performing at that show.

Brock Picken -  FAME Fitness Model Brock Picken needs your support as he rides his way from Ontario all the way to BC to raise awareness for “Healthier Kids: A Better World”.  The bike tour will take him about a month as he will cover about 4500 km (150/day) while wearing a weighted suit. FAME World Championships Update
